It is one of two faults m8
Either clocks faulty or under your air box you will see two earths bolted to the inner wing remove clean and treat with terminal / grease spray and refitt but seperate them if not already done
Hope this helps Doug

Martini, Hello again you gave me the info on my speedo problem on the focus i took the two earths off from under the air filter box cleaned them up with a wire brush and reconnected them i didnt spray terminal grease on them but white grease does that matter.as you can tell im no mechanic but a normal guy who loves his motor and wants the problem sorted the problem is still occuring should i of taken the paint off where the earths are connected so they touch bare metal or is it cause i used white grease instead.Or is my speedo u/s.As for the vss in the diff case is that easy or a garage job.Like i said sorry to bother you again mate but i appreciate the help before. marki boy

I also have a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec and a few days ago I noticed that my speedo wasnt working.

I have since made a booking with ford to get it checked out.

I shall post once I hear what they have to say about it.

Speed sensor! Does the speedo stay at nothing sometimes when driving? and if it is reading 0 and you stop does the engine cut out?

No, Just speed sensor. Not had any problems since it has been sorted. The focus speed sensor doesnt just supply the speedo, it also gives info to the ECU for fuelling. When there is no signal from the speed sensor but the ECU is getting informtion from other sensors saying the car is running it gets confused and stalls.

Great thinking isn't it LOL
