Im looking soem advise to what needs changed/ adjusted

My friend bought a 2006 focus and the bonnet is very hard to open. They key turns fine but the bonnet does release. Its as if the mechanism wont open fully. If you press and let go hard on the bonnet sometimes takes ages it will eventually open

Is it the mechanism itself needs changed?

 

Sounds like it could just ned a good grease up?

 

What he ^^ said especially as it's exposed to road spray etc.

It has been greased and didnt make any difference
