Question anyone know what this is?

I found this plug hiding under a plastic cover on my st170 is it supposed to be connected to something? it looks like it has been tie wrapped out of the way, the car runs fine with no problems, any ideas?

Don't know what it is or what its for but on my old one it was loose as yours is and all was fine, think its some redundant sensor wiring used on another model.

Its not the outside air temp sensor as thats behind the bumper, it's the under bonnet air temp sensor. If it gets a bit toasty under there then the fans will cut in to help prevent heat soak!
