hi all, focus 1.8 tdci 2003 registration

symptoms:

mild vibration on idle when i rev it between 1500-2000 then it evens out

hard to start in the mornings regardless of temp it seems, getting worse to the point where sometimes its hard starting twice in the day

when it kicks into life when starting it makes a loud clatter noise as its getting to idle if that makes sense, like as i start it and as it kicks in it makes the noise for about 1/4 of a second, it doesent sound healthy

hesitation when i put my foot down, there is a definite loss of power since i bought it 5 weeks ago


mechanic told me DMF was on its way out, and he said the hesitation is due to the crank sensor getting confused or something due to the flywheel, it doesent make any clattering once its started up and no noise when changing gears or anything? and it makes a loud shunt noise sometimes when i turn it off but i think thats the fuel pump
