ok my car has developed a problem. approaching a junction my car goes to stall, sometimes it does, sometimes it just recovers and starts again. also if i floor it at abougt 3/4 k rpm it splutters and dosn't run smooth. any ideas on the problem, im thinking idle control valve but up for suggestion. also how much is a new idle control valve and is it easy to change. cheers

 

hi mate defo the idle speed control valve but try taking it off first and cleaning it with brake cleaner it might fix it

 

ok just found the intercooler water was empty as my intake temp of rose to 45 on crusing. anyway all sort but i have found was leaving out the size of the intercooler. i think the car is smoking whit too. so is it just the intercooler broke,or have i blown something else? looks costy what ever.

 

Intercooler box could be knackered, take the top boost hose off and see if theres any dried on coolant in there.

 

Vacumm leak on the hoses or clogged air filter? either that or sticky ICV should be alright after a cleaning.
