I paid Ł12k for my 07 ST3 3dr back in May 09 with 22k on the clock. Now is about 24.5k on the clock. All my driving is around town, so mpg is about 19 - 22.

i brought my old ST2 brand new in july 07, gave it back to ford 6 months later!!

stunning car, love the concept but i think i had a friday pm car!!

power steering failed 2 twice dumping fluid all over the shop and was never right after that.
dash board used to lock out and would only work if i turned it all off and locked/unlocked the car.
knocking from rear suspension
loose drivers seat
headlights / fogs condensating up
passenger front wing had been repair painted before i bought it - found this out when i had the paint depth measured
and the worse bit was rust!!
not ford uk's fault but the dealer i bought it from!!
metal filings on the paint from where they had it parked sank into the paint and weren't noticable to the naked eye until they rusted!! and being white what ever they did they never managed to get them out.

i now have a mk 1 vrs and simply love the car, different type of power but never the less just as quick and returning 40+mpg on a run!! on a average month of 1-1200k miles i spend about Ł200 on fuel, with the ST i was spending Ł130 a week!!!

If the fuel thing is a problem try removing the kam fuse think its number 26 under the hood talking to a guy and he told me if you remove it for about 15-20 mins then replace it it will learn your style of driving and should give better mpg hope this helps but if you do it you need to do it every few months .
