What is the gapping for standard spark plugs for a 1.8 and 2.0??

Also i know there isnt much point but can i put 2.0l blacktop cams straight into a 1.8 or would i need shims shimming or any other work?? as one of my cams is broke and i have 2sets of 2.0 spare

with the silver top 1.8 you can put the 2l cams in for a 15bhp increase no problems but im unsure if its the same prinsiple on the black top

i'm pretty sure the black top 1.8 and 2l cams are identical and can be swapped. the best way to find out though i think would be to ring ford and check to see if the part numbers are the same.

ford have a really shit after sales and would rather just wait till some one can help on here thanks phil..

Plugs are sorted
Just need cams info

i think when i rang ford parts department they said the 1.8 and 2.0 cams were the same.however, i have fitted 2.0 kent cams in my 1.8 and even thought they are the same, i have no found out the power band will be slightly different as smaller capacity engine (im still happy though!!). Not sure if this will be same for std cams.Best bet is to ring ford parts department and check OR buy my 1.8 cams that i removed from my car. Only done about 48k miles and in good nickLet me noMatt

just check part numbers on the cams to be sure.

any ford dealer will be able to look up the part numbers in a couple of min
