Default Lambda sensor quest

Is there any difference between the st170 and 1.8 focus lambda sensors?

Iv got a 1.8 with the st170 cat fitted. My 2nd lambda sensor needs replacing and i was wondering if it is worth fittin an st170 one?

Thanks

Matt

They are the same sensor but the ST170 has a longer wire as the cat is fitted further down the exhaust system that a 1.8 focus.

Thanks for the reply. Will ring to see wot the difference in price is.

Is it best to get from ford (even though they are expensive) or are there other makes that are cheaper?

Thanks

You get what you pay for! Genuine ford will be more expensive but no doubt better quality than a cheapy!

The latest cheapo from the US are very good, look up ecolambda, around £30 for a universal, need to just do some wire crimping.
Should come with directions for the colours, as these will be different, they use over 10 different colours!!
