hi there i just bought a window tint kit for my focus 3 door in limo black and i know you can have what you want on the back windows but does the same apply on the rear windscreen because the kit comes with a rearwindscreen precut in limo black is this legal??

it is completely legal to tint the rear screen in limo black ,just the side windows and front screen can not be tinted to dark.think of a van with no rear windows same principel ,dont matter how dark on rear as you dont look out of the you have mirrors to see behind you hope this helps

Correct. If you do go ahead and tint the front side windows anyway, the boys in blue can test the transparency and then make you remove it...

 

Front side windows can't have any tint on them at all, as they are already tinted to the limit from standard.

Rear side and back window can have anything you want though!

 

do u ever get a fine or anything if its too dark?

 

Front windows inclusive of windscreen must allow a minimum of 70% light (from memory) to pass through.

 

Yes I got a prohibition order put on an old car of mine by VOSA, basically ordering it off the road until the tints were removed, and it was re-inspected by vosa. Right ball ache, not worth the hassle!
