Default Ford Focus 1.8 zetec petrol

I was looking to purchase a 2001 Ford Focus 1.8 zetec petrol. This car is a 3 door model, in pepper red and has 111k. Are these a common car in a 1.8 zetec in 2001?

What should i look out for in puchasing this car. Does the coil pack give trouble? Did these come with any extras?

Look out for rust under the mirrors, boot & at the bottom of the doors. With that mileage, make sure its had a cambelt change and the clutch is good.

My coilpack went on my 1.6, but their cheap to replace. Just feels like its misfireing all the time and no acceleration. Think it was only the 1.6 that it was an issue.

Extras were climate pack (air con, electric mirrors, heated mirrors + washer jets, heated front screen & colour-coded mirror caps), reflex pack (abs, rear disks & traction control).

If your going to add a few engine mods, I can recomend the 2.0 auto air deflector (£8 approx), K&N panel filter, ST170 snorkel & ST170 airbox (to save bodging the stock one to fit the snorkel) & remove the resonator box. Thats what I had on my 1.8. Under hard acceleration, it gave a deeper 'rumble' & better pickup of acceleration at higher revs. Might have only added a small amouth of bhp, but it felt better alround.

I had a '99 1.6 Zetec & a '00 1.8 Collection.

Does 2.0 auto air deflector and ST170 snorkel+airbox will fit to Focus Mk2 1.6 (100BHP) 2007?

No it wont, only the Mk1 / Mk1.5 Focus. If your Focus is the same as mine in my avatar, then it wont.
