I am thinking of buying a 2004 Focus TDCI Sport is there any advise you can give me on what to look out for?

Also i am told that they were built in limited numbers, do any of ye know how many were produced?

They are hard to find i used to have 1 took me 3 months to find it, great car. Cant think of much to look out for to be honest, mileage is the biggest as it does still have a turbo and you dont really want it to have a hammering. They do great mpg and they are quick.

 

if you are after a 2004 model... these came out in april of that year and were limited to 500

all 3 dr
half-leather

Cracking little motor with all the bits of the st170 but with a TDCI motor up front

heres mine


some owners like myself got the bumpstrips colourcoded
I have also colour-coded and delocked the doorhandles

mine is also fitted with the ST smoked headlights and clear side repeators

Good mod is the bluefin which takes power up a wee bit to about 130-135 from the standard 115

Eibach spgs lower it nicely by 30mm (Mine still to be fitted with GAZ Shocks)

Downsides is there is no HFS

Mine has covered 60,000 as a daily hack with no problems
just regular servicing

if you are still looking out for one in May... Mine may be up for grabs as I need extra doors

Not strictly true. The 500 Imperial Blue production run was across both 3 and 5 door models. There were a total of 1500 TDCi Sports and I have seen 04 plate cars in Black and Magnum Grey.

 

I thought on the orginal batch 03-53 were available in both 3 and 5 dr in various colours but not Imp Blue

Then it all went Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I was ready to get a TDCI Edge then my dealer informed me that Ford were bring out a limited run(500) of 3 dr Imp blue cars to cash in on the TDCI Sport thing

I have yet to see a 5dr ImpBlue TDCI Sport

5DR ST170 Imp Blue plenty of them

 

they never made a 5 door imperial blue focus in tdci - heres mine - was really hard to find one!

nickb, where did you get the springs from and how much were they?

 

The Eibach spgs can be had from your friendly Ford dealer for about 100 quid

just make sure he gets the correct spec for the TDCI
take in your chassis No as Ford, as we know ,are sometimes useless

What wheels is that you have on yours, they realy do set it off nicely against the imperial blue colour. Here's mine, just onto 35K

 

they are 18 compomotive mo's they might be for sale in the next month or so
