bigger throttle body!
Hello,
im wanting to get more air into my car, but dont want to fork out paying £250 for a brand new 67mm throttle body. was wondering if theres anything else that i could use or a bigger body off a different car which would work! any1 selling a second hand one? any ideas, on bit of a budget !

is it an RS or an ST that you have?
a common thing for the ST170's is to port your standard TB, needs a little work but like the bigger TB's it gives better throttle response etc..
just on a TB alone you will get minimal power gains..

as wardy said...
you couldnt really go for an st170 inlet either as they work differently because of the vvt...
just stick with the induction kit sadly mate

The inlet is more restrictive than the TB!!! Besides a 60+mm TB is way too big and will do more harm the good. EFI is not like carbs, biggers is not better especially when you can not re-calibrate sensors and fully map the ECU. Even an induction kit is a waste of time.

you can get the 65mm throttle body from here for £120, dont let some UK performance parts place rip you off charging you £250!

i have got one on a supercharged zetec and its very very good.
i reckon it would work OK on a NA zetec so long as you have good induction system, bigger bore maf, good exhaust and manifold, proper mapping, and maybe port the intake of the inlet manifold out a bit to make use of the bigger diameter TB.

You have most likely gained nothing from your mods so far.
The standard exhaust flows enough for 150 bhp, bluefins use generic maps, induction kits just make noise and upset the MAF.
An internally standard 2.0 ZETEC can produce 165-170 bhp when tuned properly. It is the inlet and standard mapping that reduce this to 136 bhp. What you have done wont really change those issues. Tuning modern engines is not the same as old engines.
