The Focus RS has revised gear ratios and a short shift mechanism, and is obviously going to be better than standard as it reduces the distance u throw the lever into each gear. Good, cheap piece of kit that can be bought off ebay for a stock focus. I believe the B&M short shifter costs about £50???

Hmm Tweeks do them between £110 and £150. I thought the RS might have a short shift at standard but thats interesting to know, I assume you have an RS? I wonder what the Non-RS owners think

Got one of the cheap ebay ones that i've had fitted for years, use it hard all the time and it is a big difference if you go back to standard shifter. Proves you don't need to spend a lot for good quality, isn't the rs shifter setup slightly different to the early mtx75 though?
