Focus Key Fob/Remote Central Locking
Hi All,
I have been looking at buying a used Focus for my Wife. I notice that on a few that I have been to see have a problem with remote central locking not working. Its ok if you use the key in the car but not at range. Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem and if so what are the usual cures for it other than obvious things like fob batteries.
Thanks, Mike

Must admit I've never come across this before and I've owned a 1.4 and now an RS and use loads of different spec Fords with the same locking system every day at work . . . you've already mentioned it, but the most obvious would be new batteries, they don't last forever

else if the code in the key had to be re-aligned ,then ford can do it ,ask your local dealer for a costing on this, you might or rather should get the key code fob number, when you buy the car,as this is needed to re-aligne the remote key im sure.

thats like mine does not open until you are on the car near enough, but I'm not bothered about it, as I mostly unlock the car by the door, it's a ahbit I'm used to now when the remote locking on my last car a micra packed up.
