Default Focus RS Replica (Updates p2)

Hi there, my friend has transformed a red 2.0 ESP into a full RS replica and i have been helping him! Does anyone know of someone else that has carried out this transformation? We are both unsure as of how much the car should be lowered without causing problems with the 18" wheels on? What do people suggest, we are looking at full suspension kits that will lower it either 35mm or 50mm.

Any help will be appreciated!!!

De-Locked all round, US spec rear light clusters and LHD reverse light clean it up loads and keep the red theme going. Just picked up a 50mm lowering kit so should be fitted soon and get rid of that off roader stance.

I know, that is 1 day after it was sprayed. Needs the skirts fitting, a full stainless, suspension and trying to source a spoiler and chrome roll cage!!! Anyone know where to get a fat polished half show cage or real one?

First and formost That looks fukkin ace!!!

Second are you in a club? if not check out www.fordsport.org.uk and get signed up, cuz it needs to be at shows...

Third, Roll cage, yes, Lee at Fusion fabrication will make you one mate, he did one for a mate of mine witha FRS and it looked the bollox. he is a trader on here, so you could try PMing him , although I aint seen him posting much so your best bet is to check his website as i think he has contact details on it www.fusionfabrication.com

And fourth' oh I already mentioned fordsport

Just realised, if I was to fit an original FRS front bumper on mine it wouldn't meet up with the standard wings would it?

Hmmm Think I may go for an aftermarket jobby as I didn't really wanna do a replica as such, just love the 'look', so may go for an RS 'style' bumper.

It wouldnt mate up, those arches are seriously wider than standard so u would probably have to find an aftermarket version. Cheers for the info, ill have a look into the websites.

Ill have a look tonight see if there are any pics of the rear quarters being fitted but i doubt it!!!

Lowering it 50mm this evening so ill get some pics when its dropped, should look a whole world better.

You've got PM

Got it lowered tuesday night but lets just say dont take for granted that your mates car will go as smoothly as your own. My ESP took about 2hrs to lower and that is including chopping the rear springs down twice. This one was a complete ball-ache, every problem that could occur did and when i got home i slept like a baby. But at the end of the day its all good fun.

Thinking about chopping the rears on this aswell, sits a bit too high!!!

Was gonna fit a nice exhaust this weekend until it turned into a tropical storm. Just picked up some Recaro front seats, getting a full red and black leather re-trim.

Not really, just takes a lot of time. Using genuine parts helps quite a bit.

Just fitted a slash cut exhaust today, looks amazing and sounds great. Also washed it just for jamesS2RS and it needed it.

No cage any more coz its going up for sale soon, recaros are going in within a week and hopefully then its getting a full red and black leather re-trim. If we can convince a mate who has his own bodyshop, its gonna get lacquered aswell so it has show shine paint work.

How fast does everyone think it will sell on here if at all and how do i go about trying to get a mag feature?

Would that be the guy from Selby/Beverly way on? I bought it from a Lad in Mablethorpe, but he mentioned it was from up there originally...

I cant mate, the lower spoiler has taken a right beating, it's all cracked and scraped underneath... When the missus goes shopping she cant use her normal car park as it wont go over the speed humps.

New bumper is on its way, old one on eBay soon

As for the wheels, they had crappy tyres on, and one had been kerbed

End of a project so wanna sell it to start on a 6.0 V12 jaguar thats waiting for some attention. Gonna be looking for around the £8k mark which is fair considering the cost and time involved so far. Thats including the re-trim thats not done yet. What does eveyone think?
