I'm at my wits end but I’ll try to be concise, I have a 2005 Focus 1.6 TDCI with 86k mileage, whilst idling it sounds sweet, whilst on the road and under acceleration and load i get quite a loud tapping/rattling noise from the engine up to about 3500 revs before it disappears, revving whilst not moving I just get a faint trace of the noise. I've changed the oil and filters, checked underneath and even around the injectors and all seem fine and dry. Car seems to be working well with no fault codes, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

 

Have you heard of terracleaning? It cleans the whole exhaust system from the injector to the exhaust tip. I got it done on my 1.6 focus after it was silky smooth to drive. I would get it scanned anyway. Best of luck with her.
