Default Mk1 Focus problem

Please bear with me, whilst I try to list everything.

This car drives superb can not fault it.

However at standstill or coming to a stop, thats when things go wrong.

If car is at standstill ticking over, and I switch on headlights, or heater, or wipers, infact if I use anything electrical, then engine struggles and shakes, and lights go dim.

I have a brand new silver calcium battery, and brand new bosch alternator.

I changed fuel filter, as someone told me it could be a fuel starvation, I changed this (old one was full of sludge when i cut it open) put new one on, and it ran perfect for 50 odd miles, now its back to same old self.

Even just pressing brake pedal enough to put brake lights on cause engine to shake, even intermitent wipers setting.

Now If i unplug the smart charge plug on alternator, things seem to be better, not perfect but a touch better.

Fords charged me £78 to scan it, and then said no faults found .

I would really appreciate your help and advice.
If you require me to do any testing of vehicle, just ask me, and I will post up results.

Thanks in advance.

Try idle air control valve, might be carbonned up, it's just on the right of the inlet manifold held on by 2 10mm bolts, take that off, spray with some carb cleaner Or similar and see what happens

Sorry forgot to mention, it had a brand new idle control valve, 2 days ago, and new throttle housing unit, new plugs new leads, oil change, theromstate, engine head temp sensor, all new earths and new earth leads.

However if i disconnect idle control valve, the revs drop very low on tick over, but i can switch on everything electrical, and every thing works perfect, no engine shaking.

I have tried 3 brand new idle control valves, but none of them make a difference.

I'm not sure but does the alternator have a voltage regulator on it ?

If it does I would check or have it checked ?

Alternator is perfect, have had it tested at 3 different garages.

Also noticed today, if i unplug smart charge plug on alt and disconnect red power lead from alt, so alt is totally disconnected, and everything running from battery, and start engine, there is no shaking, and every thing works as it should
