I was driving along with my heater fan on 1, but my friend was cold so he switched it to 2 and the fan stopped. After that it wouldn't work on any number. Switching it to demist seemed to work, i.e. the windscreen didn't steam up, but I'm guessing that doesn't rely on the fan working.

I checked the fuse (63 I think) and it looks fine.

I was thinking about checking the resistor but I as it doesn't work on 4 I'm guessing it's something else - the switch or the motor.

Any suggestions?

 

Turned out it was the switch. By bridging the two pins below I managed to get the fans on:



Luckily a new switch was only £4 on eBay! Sorted.
