My gear changes are a little notchy and I saw in the manual that its possible to adjust the shifter cable. The haynes instructions are not all that clear. Basically put it in 4th, insert the 3mm drill bit and then adjust.

Question - I guess you just leave the selector on the gear box as it is and just accommodate for any slack/play? I haven't done this before so don't want to end up with no gear selection.

Has anyone got some more details on what exactly to do at the selector end?
