Ive always jnown koni to be a good quailty make and they are now using H&R springs so i rekon should be a good set up.

I have heard GAZ are top notch but im looking around £300

The other option was bilstein B4 shocks and eibach springs, the eibachs i know are good.

Originally looked into coilovers but anything sub £500 was getting hit and miss reviews and i believe you get what you pay for!

You've already hit the nail on the head - you get what you pay for.

Had Koni coilovers on mine, found them to be very good, eventually all the adjusters seized up but that's probably as much because I didn't maintain them enough than because of a problem with the suspension.

I believe Koni shocks can still be overhauled/rebuilt as well, so a better option if you plan on keeping them a while.

I've just replaced mine with Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs.

Oh ok, which bilsteins did you go for, the B4's seem very reasonable but in not sure if these are any good. One idea I had was to go with these bilstein shocks and eibach springs.

Demon tweekes have bilstein shocks for 34 plus vat - couple them with some decent springs!

Seem like a good deal, I know the B4s are entry bilsteins and probably not any 'firmer' than standard but tbh im not looking for track car handling, just want it slightly stiffer and lower, as the car handles great in standard form!

Whats the best springs to go for? I know the eibachs are highly rated however ive been looking at some H&Rs as they lower slightly more, anyone had any experience with these?

a good compromise is to have yours rebuilt. they cost less than a new one with a fixed setting like the koni street. with the adjustable kones I had problems that lost oil from the valve on the domes and nobody was able to reconstruct them bilstein instead they seem to be more resistant and above all they use the standard pieces that are easily found to reconstruct them.
the b4 are the same as the standard ones. if you want the car a little more rigid spending as much as a b4 you have to rebuild an original. so you can also decide if you want to shorten the stem or not (recommended if you want to use lower springs).
I've always enjoyed myself with prokit
