Problem starting Ford Focus 56 plate
Hey guys,
Am not that technical savvy with cars and heard this was the place to find the pro's. Just recently got a Ford Focus Zetec 56 plate.
I've had no major problems with it up to press but today I tried to start the car and it wouldn't start.
When i turn on the ignition to stages 1 and 2, I get the usual lights which come up on the instrument dashboard (nothing which points to the problem from what I look in the owners handbook) and also interior lighting comes on aswell inside the car - however the interior lighting flickers and changes in brightness intensity like a dimmer switch is being used in the car.
When i then try and fully start the car (ignition stage 3) I get what can only be described as a ticking sound and the car doesn't sound.
My radio also displays a message like: "setup now: yes".
This coupled with the dimming interior lights which change in intensity I am thinking that this could be battery related. Have had the car for around 6 months and I haven't changed the battery since I got it. Nevertheless, i don't know if its fuse related, starter motor related or like I said, the battery. Its never happened before and I've tried with multiple different car keys aswell (didn't know if it was a car key immobiliser issue).
Would greatly appreciate any help whatsoever anyone!
Cheers
