Can some one take a pic of there interior lights.Ive bought a rear light to go on the back of the car.Its the same type as the focus ghia and the ST 170 has.Also can anyone measure from the back of the headlining to where the light is and from where the doors are to the light.

Its a 5door focus hatchback.

I've but some lights in the rear of mine but the are the vanity lights from the st170

 

They look well.So can you do the measurments for me and take a pic of the rear light for me.

The way yunni has done it is easier, but i'll show you my way as well.

about 1m of 2 core wire on each side then connected them into the main light (the orange/blue and black/blue connections)



I'll have to get some proper measurements up tomorrow (iirc the lights are about the size of a debit car)


However, you do need to cut away at the metal behind as they simply don't fit otherwise. (one of the sides is more fiddly/require more metal to be cut to accommodate the connector/plug going to the light)

 

Btw , I didn't have lights in centre or vanity lights behind visors. Yunii

what i did was aligned it with the front one for centre ,then measured from grab handle to grab handle & split the distance in half,then make a mark for the exact centre. yunii

 

Yeh i thought of that.Just been lazy and wanted someone to give me messurments lol.Did it take you long to do.Should there be a metal ring that goes in first then the light clips into this or does it not matter.


I was in my dads mondeo jag last night and noticed his rear interior light was the same as the focus light.

 

yes their should be a oval metal ring with tabs that bend up over the lining pressed against tight to it, i used the ring to mark out the cut out shape to cut out,cut the inner of the ring,their same on most earlier fords. yunii

 

i have complete set of vanity/visor lights spare pm me if interested. yunii

 

I havent got the ring but i will just cut the hole a bit smaller so that when i fit the light it wont fall out lol.
