Default help locating lambda sensor please

i am looking for sensor 1 bank 1 lambda sensor. i have found what i believe to be two sensors at the back of the engine but lord only knows if this is right so looking for clarification. If you peer over the engine towards the windscreen, it looks like the exhaust manifold comes out there, I can see two sensors (one left and one right) that look a little like spark plugs i guess. Am i right in thinking these are the lambda sensors and if so which one is sensor one bank one? one seems to go to a green plug and the other goes to blue.

Bank 1 relates to the bank of cylinders which includes number 1 cylinder, bearing in mind that a 'V' configuration engine has 2 banks of cylinders. So an in-line 4 cylinder engine only has "Bank 1".

Sensor 1 relates to the position of the sensor along the length of the exhaust. Sensor 1 being closed to the engine, always before the catalytic converter, while Sensor 2 (if fitted) is after the cat. Ive heard of Sensor 3, but yet to come across one...

So, your "Bank 1, Sensor 1" is the sensor closest to the motor.

Hope that helps.

Thanks greasenuts, problem is i have 2 close to the engine and I cant determine which one is sensor 1? they are side by side so one isnt closer to the engine than the other. I guess its not a V conf engine as its only a 1.6 zetec nothing fancy.

I have a thread in the technical q&a thread with the 2 drc codes as the title. There are photos on there of what i am seeing. Still a bit unclear to be honest so i would very much value your input. Thanks
