Default Idle issues....again!

Anybody help on my 2001 Focus 2.0 16v Zetec?

Since I have cleaned the throttle body she runs fine yet as soon as I come to stop the revs will idle at around 1,600rpm then after say 5 seconds drop to 900rpm.

I cleaned the idle control valve which was very dirty.....This has not cured it either.

I am just wondering if I did some damage to the throttle body when cleaning it? I took the throttle body off and sprayed carb cleaner all around it, this did not budge the grime that was on the back of the white plastic butterfly. So I took both screws out of the butterfly and used a fine grade sandpaper to remove the grime, all worked well and left me with a nice clean butterfly. I then used the same fine sand paper to clean inside the throttle body whilst the butterfly was out making sure that was nice and clean. Since this the idle stays high when I come to a halt which is rather annoying in traffic waiting 5 or so seconds for it to drop to 900rpm.

Only other thing I can think of is I put a full tank of Shell Optimax (99 ron) in her the same day I cleaned the throttle body......I have never used 99ron in her before but thought I would give it a try.

I also cleaned out the Idle Control Valve with carb cleaner....Still no joy

Looking on Ebay under throttle body for my Focus a few other things related are popping up like sensors.

Any ideas would be great as it rather annoying.....Although saying that I have done 50 miles driving fairly hard and my fuel gauge has not moved, still showing Full which is a good thing!

It shouldn't be clean inside. It will have a black coating on the inside of the throttle body. What you've done is removed this coating probably causing an air leak past the butterfly.
