Default 2005 MK6 1.4 16V Fast Idle

Hi Guys - I'm brand new here @ passionford.

I wonder if the knowledgeable members can help me out?

Just over a week ago the idle speed on my 2005 1.4 16V MK6 Fiesta suddenly increased from around 900rpm to 1500rpm. I've tried various things, none of which have cured the problem.

I've thoroughly cleaned the throttle body. I've removed and cleaned the TMAP sensor. I've disconnected the battery to reset the ECU. I've disconnected (what I believe to be) the idle speed control valve. There are no DTC codes showing on the dashboard self test and I don't get any illumination of the engine management light.

Generally the revs stay at about 1500rpm, but occasionally the revs are hunting. Less often, but worryingly, they may be as high as 2500rpm immediately after a cold start.

Can anyone give me any pointers as to what else I could check?

Obviously, I could take it to the garage but I'm absolutely skint at the moment and I'm desperate for a remedial fix for the next few weeks.

Did you ever find a solution to this as i have the same problem?
2003 104k 1.4
Startup revs to 2k then drops to 1500, then gradually drops to normal 850 when warm.
It wants to tick over at 1500rpm while driving so pulls the car along without touching the throttle.
I've cleaned the map sensor and i have tried a different throttle body as the IAC is part of this, but no different.
I was thinking maybe the throttle position sensor or MAP sensor next but i don't want to just keep changing parts as it tends to get expensive quickly.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
