Saxos do nothing for me and its not a car I look at and long to own one.
I can still appreciate a nicely done up one though

if your having probs beating a fooking saxo vts for fook sake get your cars looked at 
you cant just mod your rs turbo and say its got 200 bhp you have to have it set up otherwise it will be slower than standard

Its not about liking them, its about knowing what they are capable of and having a bit of respect for one ( in the right hands of course)
I dont like them, but I'm not ignorant enough to say they are shit slow and will get easily beat by any RS turbo, facts are they are quick off the mark and excellent through the bends, on a country road/typical UK road a VTS would be a good match for most RST's
Its all about knowing when to remove the ford blinkers

okay i know vts maybe nippy but i dont care how they go through twistys a slightly modded rs turbo should beat one even if its only slightly or should keep up with it at least. To be honest i had a 135bhp orion 5 years back and i beat one but only just about but to be honest on paper he should have beaten me as its a lighter car also depends on the driver.

Of course saxo`s are fast they are built from garlic loving froggies out of Mr kipplen pie tins. But non of the french army around my area have any thing on my escort, its only got standard engine and stage one turbot, 155bhp on rollers, but non of them can touch the turbo, they all know who`s boss! The new c3`s arnt much better either imo, had a few run ins with a few of them on the M1 on the way to work. Naaa think ill be keeping my Fast Ford thanks ( Old school cool is the best way)

They cant be all that special surely, my RSi could beat these from a standing start (dry conditions only, otherwise i'd just be sitting there doing a burnout ) and the only engine mods were a tweaked metering unit, drilled airbox and a janspeed exhaust 
The RSi is alot better on the twisties too
Mind you we were about equal top end as my RSi seemed to run out of puff over 100
Most of them round here now are so weighed down with bodykits and ICE they'd struggle to beat a 1.1 fiesta

my mate has a supercharged 106 gti, its quick, but dosnt surprise you and make you think, shit this is quick.
at the time i had my e36 m3 3.0 and he was saying he kepy up the ass of m3 evos, whcich i later found out it was about a 100 yard stretch that he kept up.
Always broke as well.
Turbo a zetec s puma engine and have some serious fun, owned a zetec s and they out handle anythng in its class.
Still the ecossy takes the piss out of the lot lol

mate of mine has a 106 gti mods are port and polish, cams, induction kit 4 branch and full system and he has just had it chipped at motorsport developments and its very quick, however just took him out in my s2 that i bought on saturday his first words when the turbo kicked in were f**k me this would leave my pug like an m3 racing a metro! suffice to say i was chuffed! but i must say them 106's and saxo's do corner like they are on rails so respect must be given where due unless the car in question looks like its driven through halfords window and everything that stuck got left on lol!

there is a 106gti in blackpool that eats st's! from the lights and on bends, seen it in action against my teg i was easing off on a bend and he didnt lol, there is also europes fastest saxo, he had it built in sweden, not going near that to find out, not even on the bike!!!!! but all in all id still rather have my little escort!!!!(and the teg lol)

Gem used to have a 106Gti and it was a good little motor-much better than an RST in standard trim. We lowered it on spax and fitted 16's, K&N 57i kit, full magnex and decat. It was a little screamer!
