anyone got any details on how many s2 non customs where made / dates made how many left? i got mine early last year and after doing a full year of shows only seen 2 others so any info or pics would be appreciated ta craig

 

I think mine was a non- custom, it never had electric mirrors when I got it. Straaaaaaange...

I've seen only 2 others like mine and i have looked!

 

mine has no sun roof no electric windows or mirrors no central locking no 4way speaker control and apparently is even rarer as it is in mercury grey. as for the less to leak no chance its an escort it still gets in lol.

wot reg's are ur cars mine is e as far as i know they stopped making them in late 87??

They exist, sun roof was option on the first S2's. It was made standard quite quickly from what i gather.

 

Old guy has one up here no recaro's either.

mine not got any recaros either and got black wing mirors in the book it has how much it was and the extras it came with it's an 86 s2

 

js had word from someone sayin the non customs were made from motorsport shell hense no sun roof or electric toys any one else heard this?

I was told mine was a motorsport shell although i never put much mileage into it as i knew about the non-custom thing and the previous owner didn't

wot sort of nick are your non customs in apart from a bit on bulk head and boot the body is mint on mine the underside looks like new one of the lads in the club seams to think its because that the shells are built on a different line they are using better steal and better sealed

 

does anyone have any non custom door cards or no how to repair them when arm rest is sagging??

if its got that lot mate its a normal custom just wiv manual mirrors have seen a couple like that and some with electric mirrors but manual windows

 

Am I right in thinking some of the very early S2's came with bronze tinted glass and not the normal green tint?

 

Mine has got green tint, except for passengers where it was replaced. You can just see it in my sig... Must change it!

 

you might be right there have seen a d reg one with bronze tint the only reason i noticed is because it was parked near my cars in the rain

 

Mine's not too bad... Had some welding done, battery tray and usual other bits... Its pretty solid overall though

 

I just remember someone telling me that, and wasnt 100% sure if it was right.

 

thinking about it they were probably left overs from the s1 they had bronze tint

 

Try a ford breakers... They are same as XR3s from the same age i believe

 

yer mine has had new bat tray but the guy who put it in did not seal it so water was pissin in same wiv fuse box
js sealed them up for now do a propper job when its abit warmer

When i got mine, some genius had fibre glassed the remains of my tray.

Has to rip it all out and put a proper one in!

i know its a bit different but back in the day my dad bought a brand new rs1600i motorsport shell and built his own rs1600i from new parts this had no sunroof and was a lot stronger than the road going versions , wish we still had it now but he sold it and some dick had a sunroof cut in it then left it running outside his house in a dodgy area with the drivers door wide open and some thieving cunt was off with it some cunt abused the shit out of it and burnt it out wankers

 

get some resin and paint it on them on the inside mate, the hardboard they're made out of soaks it up quite nicely and you could hit mine with a hammer and they wouldn' budge

Yes thats correct, its the same with the xr3i´s
The xr3i i have is an 86 model with bronze tint windows and with the same bootlid as the mk.3, not the spoiler though but the bootlid and wirering are ecxactly the same as my old 83 xr3i. It has connectors to the wirrering pretty close to where the lock is, anyway any one who has an mk.3 model know what i meen
