Yes, ONLY if you use FOCUS type pisons with them! (Ie, from the states).

If you use "UK" mondeo type pistons, you'll run into all kinds of trouble!

yeah sorry i should of mentioned.. i use je pistons and eagle rods on a sliver top but they are meant for the black top focus engine so i had to use a 1.2mm de-comp plate to reduce the comp ratio from 8:4:1 (57cc cvh head) to 7:8:1

Noooo! Calibra pistons are for use with Mondeo rods. If you use them with a Focus rod (ie, Eagle), the rod+piston length will be wrong, if memory serves, they will be too long and the piston will be poking out of the block by about 5mm!

If you do decide to try Calibra pistons and Eagle rods, make sure you measure them etc before commiting to buy, but I am sure they are wrong! Use a Focus type piston and then machine to suit the desired CR.

Calibra pistons and a mondeo rod will give about 7.4:1 IIRC with a 16v head.

Can't advise you there really mate!

I know CP pistons do custom jobs though, so may be able to help with a piston with the correct CR and 8v valve cutouts.

Perhaps Ian Howell (Area Six) is worth a call, tell him you want to use Focus Rods, and what pistons can he sort for a ZVH engine (he deals with CP Pistons believe)
