What do I have to change to make that fluttering noise rather than have a a dump valve, I know most people dont like them but the car was set up with it on (aleady set up when i bought it) and am abit werry of taking it off!

I couldnt tell you spec of the car as all I know is its chip and running 13psi but peaks at 15psi, have a big front mounted intercooler on it, with a pipercross induction kit on it with a garrett t3 airsearch turbo on it (i are t3 but please correct me if wrong)

That "fluttering" noise is called chatter.

Need to conver the car to efi, and take dump valve off.

 

Yes, if the car is still running the original management system you wont get the flutter. As mentioned you need to convert to fiesta turbo efi or cosworth management / aftermarket etc, basically anything that ditches the fuel metering unit as that is what stops it from making the noise

 

Just lose the d/v and try it.

You can get chatter with mfi, but efi is louder & more prominent.

 

Chatter with MFI is minimal though....and if it is loud you got a leak somewhere

 

the correct name is compressor stall!!! i run with mfi and she chirps like a good un.

I dont really understand everyone's obsession with it TBH. It's ok for the first couple days that you got it, but then it just irritates the crap out of ya. No different to a dump valve in that respect - ie irritating noise everytime you change gear.

chatter is much better than a dump valve, louder too if you run enough boost.
i think chatter has a more individual sound, i also think it is more provoking, makes you want to cane the car even more.
ive got pretty loud (louder than bailys dv24) on mfi with no air leaks (had it checked after reading a similar post.
