Default Electric Window problems

when i first got my s2, in the summer, the passenger window was really slow to go back up, but the drivers side was fine. Now its got to winter and its cold, they have both gone slow, really really slow. I dont open the windows any more coz it takes several minutes for them to go back up and sometimes they look like they wont go back up at all. Anyone had any similar probs? or know what it might be?

cheers.

Yep, classic problem mate. Mine are sometimes like this, I find that putting a small amount of pressure on the glass and helping them back up works ok. If you find them going really slow, this means they are taking all the charge outta your battery, leccy windows take a lot of power to go up and down, but the main cause would probably be the electric window motors are knackered, mine does it too, but I'm not too fussed about it at the mo, I think most RST's do it tbh.

LOL - Yea I know what you mean. Well the thing I would do is to look at the motors and change them if possible

Seein as i have to work with replacing door glasses most of the day, firstly lubricating the front and rear channels helps a helluva lot, and also popping the door card off and re greasing the runners and the runners poppers.

Also come across another problem every now and then with the secondary runner guide that holds the glass level (two 10mm bolts holding smaller runner to rear of door)

Re-grease this runner, and crack the nuts so the runner goes slack, move windo up and down once or twice, and adjust the runner accordingly to the best movement. common problem with the secondary runner moving for no reasonafter

my alternetor was loose, so my battery wasnt charging and the windows were really slow and battery went flat a few times. Ive had it tightened up now so they are both slightly faster, altho the passanger side is still slower.
