The system is self bleeding, and very rarely will u get an air lock. To get rid of air, run the car to temp with the header tank cap off, let it cool back down and replace.

Does it just get hot in traffic? If so, its faulty fan switch.

thanks for that car is fine when driving but yes when stuck in traffic or even just crawling round town temps go through the roof up to the O on the temp gauge this is with the fan on as i had to wire it up to a switch but it doesn't make a shit of difference.

Assuming it cools back down to a little over a 1/4 and the fan stops again.... it sounds like its getting hot and the fan is struggling to keep the car cool?

Hiya guys,
My turbo orion is playing me up, my heater blower dont work but the pipes going in to the back of the heater matrix are hot, the fan kicks in and out, when the fan jumps in the coolant drops the when fan cut out the res fills slowly back up, my problem is that a few days ago my top hose adopted a small pin hole which as you can gather when pressure built up it sprayed all over the rad, with this the car was temping between the 0 and the R on the gadge. NOW with the hose replaced and everything working. pipes hot, fan working the temp gadge stays near the L and the A ( bottom of the gadge just of the blue. ive tryed bleeding the darn thing and everything still remains the same. Its doesnt smell and nothing out of the ordinary is acuring. what say you guys. gallon of petrol and a match comes to mind lol

I've had the car about a month now and on buying it I was asured that it had new cambelt, filters and it had a new stat as the previeus owner did some head damage. But I will change stat as even a new one can fail
