Flamer Kit
Okay, bought a flamer kit for my RST, drilled hole in exahust and mounted spark plug.
Ran wires to switch then onto the coil, tested it, its sparking okay.
Turn on car, revved it a little, no flames. Took it out for a spin, still no flames.
Even adjusted the air/fuel ratio screw to run a bit more rich, still no flames.
So how come its not flaming?!?!?!?!
Do i need to adjust the spark plug gap, cos it looks like a good few thousand, was standard out the spark plug box.
Any ideas?

FYI the plug needs to be fitted in the back-box, after the baffels / last box. I found the best method to get my old s2 to flame was to drive her about for a bit so she warmed up, then take her up to say 5k in 2nd / 3rd and then totally let go of the accelorator pedal. when u do this, it'll drop down to about 3k and u should see a small flame from behind (easiest time to practise is at night as u can see the flame in mirror)... Once u can see the little flame, give the accel pedal a little tap / feather and u should be able to shoot big flames / fire-balls out of the back
It does take a bit of practise, but well worth it once u get the hang of it. A word of warning, alot of reving ur car up then letting it idle back down doesnt do the gearbox a whole lot of good... fudged mine over time doing the above
Let me know how u get on

i dont think the car is chipped, i need to take it to a tuner soon when i have some money to have it looked over.
The kit that i bought (from Ford Fair last year) had a threaded metal washer which you weld to the exhaust, and the spark plug just screws into that!

i fitted 1 on my mates car as close as i could to the back box but still on the end pipe, i 'think' when its to close to the end the exhaust gases get weaker as they mixing with air and they are harder to ignite,

Have you looked to see if the plug is sparking?
Take it for a drive with the kit on and get everything nice and warm. Mine does nothing until it's up to temp and then it flames like a dragon

I must admit I have one on my car, but only because it was on my old S2 and I used the system from that on my new one as I broke the old car. I don't use it, but as my current S2 is not chipped and standard it wont flame anyway!
