Mondeo 16" alloy tyres
I picked up a set of Mondeo 16" alloys, the cossie look-a-likes, which came with tyres 205/55/16. I tried fitting these last night and expected them not to fit, which they didn't. Fronts were just ok but rear were rubbing on the arch, tyres way too big. So I need to buy smaller tyres.
The alloys I have are 6.5J ET40. I've read on here some people saying 195 is best and others saying 205, mix that up with some Mondeo alloys being 6.5J and other 7J and I'm proper confused. Anybody had experience with this alloy and got any recommendations. Originally I was looking at Toyo Proxes 205/45/16 but now I'm not sure. Cheers!

Yes, good point. Width of the tyre wouldn't change the arch rubbing when under load regardless of profile/hight. I guess a bit of arch rolling might solve it.
One job I do need to do which will affect this, I need to un-lower the rear or at least bring it closer to what it should be. Previous owner stuck some springs on it which has dropped it quite a lot (but only the rear). Too much for my liking.
