Anyone got any bright ideas how to get the bugger on!?!

Changing my box and this is really all thats left to do,simply cant get it back on no matter how hard i push and shove.Any ideas?

Oh and i cant get the engine mounts to line up either

 

put selector rod and other rod on first,while resting the gear shift box on something to keep it off the ground.then when rods are bolted pull gearstick up through hole
