Interesting one ... the shell im building my s1 race car out of could be a motor sport shell im told the car was reshelled in the late 80s is a non sun roof shell aswell . Whilst cleaning up to put the new floor in the other day I noticed its never been stamped and a mate of mine says that only motor sport shells came unstamped ...is this true ????

 

it was probably just a new shell mate ,i wasnt aware of any mk3 motorsport shells but i could be wrong on this

 

Have to do some more digging lol

 

when the cars were upto about 1-2 years old they used to get reshelled and end up with a shell with no number stamped
ive seen a couple like this

 

with a new shell where the colour plate was should have something telling you its a new shell

 

Ill have to look in the scrap bin as ive just put a new front panel in it lol
