So i got my alarm fitted yesterday. Today I put the loom onto the fuel pump and dis-armed the alarm(no leds alight).
Fuel pump relay clicks, yet the pump itself doesn't prime. This is only when the pump is wired up using the standard loom. If i take it of and use spare speaker and stick the wires up to the battery the pump primes non stop!
Surely if the relay clicks the the pump should prime? is there anything after the relay stopping the pump from working?
All was working fine before i had the alarm fitted(old pump had siezed up and didnt prime) this is a brand new pump and the relay is brand new too.
Alarm in question is a CAT 1 cobra '198'? Not sure if the immobilser is wired to the pump wiring or not. So im left scratching my head. I'm meant to be firing the engine up this coming friday after 3 years.
Last option would be to phone him up monday and ask him for advice or get him out again, thus costing more money.
Ideas please

Hi mate check you have 12v and earth at the pump if you have then the pump is fooked if you haven't then you have open circuit, trace wiring back until voltage is obtained and theres you fault.

No power at pump from loom. But power at pump, from taking the pump to the battery and using speaker wire to check the pump itself, alls good with the pump. Must be something after the relay stopping it from working.
Checked with 2 pumps this way and both are the same, new one and the factory fitted pump.

Got st/st braided fuel lines. So before i got the alarm fitted i removed the pump wiring so it didnt burn the pump out as i did other work while waiting for the alarm to get fit. Also had the petrol filler panel cut out and replaced. so the wires must of been knocked onto the fuel line or the wires touched eachother when i pused the car back in the garage.
Not the sort of thing you'd expect to happen after confirming everything works fine. Result blown injection fuse. quick 5 min job....
