Hello all,
another possibly silly question but any input and help im always greatfull , i am starting to think the crank is "F'ed" on my rs turbo i can obviously go the reground route but i think id soon source another crank pos from a lower millage car ?? i just wondered if the non turbo models where the same as the turbo models failing that S1 and S2 are they the same ?
cheers for any help.

Im pretty sure there not different.
S1 cranks are definitly the same as any 1600 pre 86.
The S2 had radius'd corners for strength, same as any post 86 crank i've seen

Oh and for the OP s1 and s2 are different in that they take different oil pumps due to the shape of the crank nose.
Pre 86 cranks use the oil pump with the tube attached (return)
Post 86 use just an oil pump without the tube
