Hi all, just bought a gpa coil from motorsport developments and after reading up a bit ive realised theres also a rewire loom you can get, do you need that to fit the coil or will it work cutting the old plugs off and rewiring?

with the loom you run it off the battery, so your coil gets a more consistant supply of volts. however you can run it same as a conventional coil with female spade terminal. + and - same as oe.

 

Yeah ive wired it standard atm but dont see the point of doing it if im not gona do it properly. Dont see why i should pay £30 for a bit of wire and a relay though, so might just make it myself

 

it is easy to do your self as said its just a switched relay to run battery volts at the coil so you do away with old wiring that may have resistance in it

 

you could make one easy enough but the msd one is nicely made, braided and has the relay. for 30 quid, the quality is there.

 

I bought a loom for mine, a lot neater than I could have made!! Lol
