Default EFI block

This will have been asked before but i cannot find a thread in search so is thier any reason why the escort efi block cannot be used in a efi turbo conversion?
it allready has the crank sensor so a return turbo oil pipe mod and RST internals (crank/pistions) would work?

Yes that will be fine to use, as you say oil return and RST pistons & rods (or forged), job done!

Yes mate, don't forget the Fiesta RS turbo was EFI. They came out the factory like that!

The casting is the same. There are a few things that make the bottom end a turbo one:

- low compression pistons
- oil feed and return for the turbo

So you can use ANY 1.6 CVH bottom end for turbo use. You'll just need correct pistons and a solution for the oil.

I'd ALWAYS use the EFI head with the EFI inlet. There's no use to waste money and power with such an adaptor plate.

The best value CVH efi bottom end is 1,8 Zetec one
No need for new internals to get 250+ bhp with better torque.

like you thinking their bomsch, well you all have verified my thinking thier, i just was a bit confused when thinking of a EFI turbo that the fiesta engine was used. when its possible and would save trying to find a FRST engine that i could (in thoery) convert the original escort efi to efi turbo as i have a mfi turbo engine allready

If you have an MFi turbo engine, either swap the pistons/rods into the efi bottom end and drill the oil return (oil feed just runs from the oil pressure sensor union) or drill the Mfi bottom end to use a crank position sensor, and use the Efi flywheel - failing that you can buy cps kits that use a trigger wheel on the pulley side of the engine?
Then use your EFi head and you are away!

Used pistons into a used bottom end? You're kidding, right?

Roger means after having the bores meassured and honed if they are in tolerance, the crank polished/ground and with new rings/shells, this goes without saying! lol
