Right guys what have you done to fix a rotten sunroof tray/cassette mine has rotten beyond repair at the rear and need to do something with it. Don't want a carbon roof either any one repolaced this before? Cheers nick.

 

Twins is selling a cassette last time I looked, I hav same prob but my roof has gone aswell, I'm looking 4 a roof so I can replace the whole roof,I'm going 2 drill out all the spot welds and take the roof skin off! Hav seen some cut the pillars ant do it that way but I don't like that idea as it would b like having a cut and shut roof,

 

ye he sold it last week i think thanks tho mate. i wanna keep my sunroof as its never worked and i wanna get it working as it should. anyone else no wot i should do?

 

Heard a story in a pub once that the roofs are brazed on at the top of the pillars so a 'cut and shut' roof could be an option when they are all 'cut and shut' sort of from the factory? Although I must admit I would not be confident with it! If its a resto project can you Grind the paint back at the top of the pillars and let us all know what you find? Best of luck either way!

 

Changing the actual skin complete with the tray is easy enough ,my mate did one a few years back with a second hand roof
