what is the best way to smooth the bumpers i have searched the forums but cant decide what filler i would need, i can see some are saying fibre glass then filler, can you give me some links to the products i would need!

If you must insist on doing it, the best way is to remove ALL paint from the recess with some very course paper, like 40 grit, then drill a small hole every 2cm in the recess then fill it with fibreglass and a light skim of filler at the end.
I think smoothed bumpers look a bit dated now, though.

im only doing it so to get rid of the recess as i cant find where to get the strips! ideally id like some white strips but black would do fine
