over here a c20let engine is known simply as a 2 liter redtop

 

the C20XE is known as a C20XE and the C20LET is known as a C20LET,

redtop is just a nickname like calling a lotus twin cam a twinky...

its only the N/A C20XE that gets refured to as a redtop, everyone calls the turbo C20LET just a "LET"

 

not over here buddy its just redtop or redtop turbo! were a simple bunch i know!

never heard of twinky! over here well call an 1986 corrolla twin cam simply a tin can!

Some people talk some shit on here why are CVH engines unreilable? its a old engine so is'nt going to make big power easy and its only a 1.6 and most that put zetecs in are 2.0 with a extra 8 vavles. CVH engines can be reilable if built properly with the right parts and you are'nt after big bhp. Take gus engine cant see that been unreilable or jano and the engines he builds or NMS.
So really imo there are both good but one is older and smaller and one is newer and bigger so if you are just after power then bigger and newer is going to be better but wouldnt say there was anything wrong with a cvh.

got to remember the cvh is around 30 years old now, but a cvh without kjet is a bloody good 1.6 8v so nice to work on and can take alot of abuse if built up right, but as said above if your looking for power and performance then zetec is going to win hands down, would love to build another cvh, big power unit 400 horses, so retro..

 

u wouldnt be saying that if u kept breakin rockers , breakin valve caps or pulling studs out the head and dropping/bending valves every week , but saying that id never put a zetec in it , if i eva changed it would be front wheel drive cossie or a super charged and turbo 2.3 duratec .

should have my proplems sorted with the roller rocker setup and titanium valve caps now tho

 

Well to be fair you are trying to make a 1.6 what is'nt a very big engine anyway do 3 times the bhp it was made to do. I dont understand why your engine is snapping rockers its not the first 1.6 to make that power and dont really hear of them been that bad.
