Default Engine upgrades reccomendations please?

All the previous owner of my new SII could tell me was "its been chipped mate"!

Is there anyway of telling what chip is fitted?

I'm not really sure if the engines waitings to die or not! It shows about 20psi on the boost gauge, and pulls like crazy.

Full magnex system, K&N 57i kit and a cheap looking under bonnet boost adjuster are the only mods I know of.

It's kicking out a bit of blue smoke on decelleration, mostly noted in 2nd and 3rd gear

Is it likely someones just turned the boost right up and thought what the hell?

Am I right in thinking a bigger intercooler would be a good place to start?

Any advice much appreciated please!!!!

you can only tell what chip is fitted if you open up the ecu.

blue smoke on overun is usually the turbo seals going/gone

I'd definately get an uprated intercooler if your running 20psi on a standard one !!! things will be getting very hot !!

too much psi, for that you need a 360 bearing and -31 actuator plus stronger
internals on the turbo, my turbo is currently being built to take 18 psi

Thanks for advice people, I think my near future plans are this then:
1.Turning the boost down a bit!
2.Fitting my spare standard turbo for the time being
3.Get my existing turbo rebuilt/upgraded

That should keep things in one piece while I find out exactly what it's had done to it!

I did'nt realise you could upgrade the internals on a standard turbo, Where you gettin that done series1ajc?
