A friend is using a edis to run his ms1. Is there any advantage or adding an internal spark driver over the EDIS? The wiring will be simpler but is that it?

Do you not have less ignition control when using edis?

The next megasquirt i build will have external coil drivers, apparently much less noisy, and a different ground to the ecu.

You don't have control over ignition dwell, as it's all done by the EDIS module. I would leave it if it's all working fine.

Ahh okay, but im sure the edis module will set dwell pretty perfectly with a ford coil pack!

Yes all is good, mine will be left alone, but i do still see a little noise which i believe comes from the ignition drivers, i would prefer it if there was no noise.
