Default S2 Fuelling Hell!!

Hi folks... Ok i'm at a total loss with my S2 now, i'm ready to set fies to the chuffin thing!! i bought it 14 months ago as a none runner, after changing the metering unit for another off a running S2, new spark plugs and leads a new relay. It finally ran, its had a engine rebuild to standard spec. There was excessive play on the shaft in the turbo so i've also had that reconditioned at a cost of 600 beer vouchers by now the car was runnin like a dream so friday we decided to take it for an M.O.T 2 miles from home it cut out, we towed it back. Its got spark at the plugs but no fuel to the injectors, you can hear the fuel pump (also new) and there's fuel to the metering head and return but none to the injectors??? is it a metering head issue or summat daft like low volts to the fuel pump?? any ideas are good ideas other than that im stuck. . . . thanks Shuffs

try to slacken off one of the banjos on the injector lines at the metering head to see if fuel is there .
or are you removing injectors to see if its coming out of there?
you wont see it mate as the injectors need to be in the head to squirt.
if theres fuel at the metering head but not at the injecor lines its probably the electronic valve on the side of the metering head.
black box, right hand side by wing.
its a electronic flow valve which will either let fuel flow or not.
try unplugging it and see if you have fuel to the lines,as the valve should be open when disconected.
def sounds like metering head prob again mate, perhaps you need a 3rd one .
trying slackening them all`off in turn and turning engine over a bit as you could have air trapped.
i had similar probs and it was a combination of fault injectors and electronic flow valve on metering head.
just try working your way through the fuel system and if you cant sort it you might have to take it to a specialist.

You won't get fuel to injectors by just having the fuel pump running, you need to have the pump running constantly and press down on the metering flap at the same time. you may not need injectors out, with pump running and pressing down on the flap gently, you should hear the injectors making a squeeling noise if they are opening.

If fuel pressure is low, injectors won't open, think it needs to be 5.5-6bar.
