Default actuator adjustment??

hi folks, i'm in the prosess of re-building the engine in my s2, the previous owner had turned the boost right up and melted no 1 piston, could anyone tell me an easy way of adjusting this to a safe level until i get it tuned? ie maybe a certain amount of thread from the actuator?, i dont wish to sound divy but this is my 1st turbo and i'm unsure, ps i have no boost gauge, thanks in advance, steve

Two 10mm nuts to undo and the clip that connects to the wastegate arm you take off the clip.then you unscrew the actuator a few turns to turn boost down,so put back and see what boost you running until your happy.

I would set at half bar pre-load. take the actuator arm off the wastgate and wind it in or out untill half of the hole is covered up by the wastgate nipple. This should roughly give you 7 psi.

remember to put the pin back through the wastegate nipple once adjusted otherwise it can slip off!
