Default diffrent options for clocks in a series 2 dash ???

as title folks,

putting a modded s2 dash in the s1 cossie - i hate s1 dash's

im wondering what options i have for clocks ,

not nessacarily a stack dash or cossie clocks , thinking more a set of stock clocks from another model or make ????

anyone got any ideas , thoughs , would liek something diffrent ,

pref that can be made to work re speedo and revs , mech drive ,

I'm doing as above but without carbon and using Autometer Phantom II's to match my boost, oil pressure and temp...

They do small water temp and fuel guages too but they will have to wait till I have more cash! lol

IIRC Fiat Tipo's had a digital dash similar to the Ashtray GTE.

depending on how many / what gauges you wanna run

it is cheaper to just buy a digi dash

i want the gems dash next, only because its display is in colour

I will be eventually using a 7" tft screen to display tuinerstudio via a modded netbook, it will power up when the 12v supply is activated and switch off when removed. The dash display is able to be fully customised to whatever display you want, I like this as my engine will only be low reving so a 9k reving disply would be pointless for my application. At the mo this can only be done with MS or Mtech as far as i know.

7" tft touch screen - £130.00
Netbook - £199.99
PC Technician to modify netbook to self boot when power supply is received £50 - 100

The rest is all sensors, you would need a driver i think for afr but prety much everything else is straight forward.

p.s. mapping is made much easier as the laptop is always connected. There is still a bit more research into the actual performance of this but im gonna give it a try once the cars is up and running

Very interesting thread, I`m considering changing my clocks, and want some decent clocks, but at a reasonable price.

Have seen stack ST200 tacho and electric Speedometer but prices are very high!

Also can anybody show the fitting and connections for the electric speedo? Can the original ford electric sender in the BC gearbox be used?

im guessing so as I have one as does project rs whic ahs it linked to his avcr to control progressive boost per gear, i would of thought the outputs would be pretty generic for using with gauges but I may be wrong. Project rs or rick are good sources of info for this sort of thing.

Matt at mtech as well

I have not done it yet! lol
But it's only a few wires and cutting the holes in the dash/clocks.

If u buy a 100mm gauge like mine it fits in the original speedo hole just have to trim the bottom slightly where the standard speedo goes flat

Mate i like how you have done that, ive a problem at the moment, im looking for a way to run electric speedo for my st170 box but keep the look of the series 2 standard clocks, up to now urs is the best ive seen,

You wouldn know if and how i could go about it would you, i mean does the setup run off cable or the box pickup and would it just plug in and go.

thanks adam

The gauge is made by cai if you google cai gauge u will find them they make smiths and revotech gauges the gauge is electronic it's basically a case of wiring it tl your speed sensor on the st170 box and calibrating it it's really easy hope this helps

yeah seems it mate ,

tbh im a bit of a gauge fan ,

i like the idea of a quick glance and being able to see what a gauge is reading ,

but something like that for revs and speed would work well ,

This is what mine will look like when I get the Fuel and Water temp gauges too....

Obviously ignore the extra bottom two gauges, but that is pretty close to how it will look in my dash, I prefer the two larger gauges central and the smaller ones either side over how the standard RST ones are.

It's a shame I cant do it all in one hit really, but the fuel and water temp gauges are on my Christmas list
