Default running lean under boost/load

hi im new to all this. i have just bought a 1988 rs turbo with zvh engine its running lean under load when adjusted it cuts out ht leads all look good will i get away with just changing the spark plugs fo the moment, what spark plugs, what gap should it have on the spark plugs help greatley appreciated thanks.
also where is the ecu located?? thanks again

the ecu is located on the bulk head mate and i would run original ford plus as they are better than most and only 10 quid ,

with the running problems please dont try and set up your self if you dont know rst turbos , the best mod that can be done on these cars is a rolling road set up.
as you only in basingstoke ring power engineering in middlesex they will set it up for around 150 quid and will be like a new car

and trust me the only problem i had there was when the guy from the tuner round the corner worked there but ian ball is there now and i would highly recommend him mate as he will not try and sell you 2k worth of bits

dealt with that type before pain in the arse. ian got my surname might be able to swing a family discount lol

lol worth a try hes a very down to earth guy and will set your car upto the best it can run with your spec and he will give advise on improvements that might help but wont try and pull your pants down at the same time

in my eyes hes the best guy for mfi equipped cars as no one else likes them and trys to sell you omex ect

Yea as above mate, changing plugs and ht leads would make fuck all difference to you it needs setting up.

it was at a rolling road where i was told i need to do this before he could do anything more he done the ignition timing but when he tried adjusting air fuel etc it was cutting out

Weird, have a look at your distributor cap and rotor arm too in that case.

Im the opposite mate (although im sure it will start a massive argument) Chris todd did a sterling job on my car, cost £100 and he never tryed to sell me any thing, in fact gave me some freebees
