Not too sure, they're basically the same car anyway, but the escort tailgate is heavier than the orion back end easily, but the extra orion doors dont lend themselves well to weightsaving.

basically i cant answer it!

My ford handbook for my rst states the kerb weight as 980kg(2161lbs).
I'd go by that rather than the haynes manual

the mk5 is about 200kgs more than the mk4 i think so power/weight will be better!

No Chris, won't be at FF,live in Ireland and funds are tight!!The car would be well know in the Ford scene for lapping Donno,Croft and C Combe at a respectable pace over the years.

the mk5 is about 200kgs more than the mk4 i think so power/weight will be better!
That Gti motor only has 118 BHP or so,not really enough to set your world on fire

Mine must way in just about 900kg as I am still running a full dash!

Hi mate,my mate Dave who shares the driving and spanner work with me on the car used to be into rallying, and its the way the rallyboys had their harness set-up.I don't know why exactly, but if its safe for them its safe for me.Always passed the scrutineers check before a rally. Regards,Micky
