HELP... S2 knock sensor
Hi all, finally putting my engine back together to start it up when i found i have a green plug on my wiring loom and no where for it to go. Its a 86 S2 however its had a new engine. This engine does not have a knock sensor on the manifold however the loom has the plug for it. (And its a 2 piece S2 manifold) Ive been reading and i believe i need to change my ECU to allow the car to run wihout a knock sensor? Only problem is my ECU has no stickers on it so im not sure which one i have. How do you identify which one it is without stickers? And finally i have a white round plug on my loom with nowhere for it to go. Does anyone no what this is for?
Thanks
Graham
Thanks

buy a knock senson and put it into your loom. I did this in mine and works fine! Same as yours, green plug in my loom but no hole to the inlet....

Ok, what would happen if i didnt fit one? Also do u know what the white plug is for? Its the same shape as the temeprature sensor on the charge carrier and the plug on the thermostat
If your ecu has the knocking option, with out knock sensor will reading that your engine is knocking... After fitting it in mine i thought that my car was ''flying''...! The white is for inlet temps. The fan switch has an other colour, i can't remember it now. Make a search with the word ''sensor'' and you will find everything you need!
